I've got two of the cheap PowerAcoustik Units. Picture quality is good (no lines, no dead pixels) and they hook up just the same as anyone else's.
With ANY LCD MODULE that you buy, the first thing I can recommend doing BEFORE you install it is take it out of the box, and test if for dead pixels. You can do this by taking a picture of a WHITE piece of paper, and a BLACK piece of paper. Power up the LCD module, and feed the signals into the module (that's the tricky part.)
Start with the white blank image, and carefully check the screen for small black "dots" - these are dead pixels. Usually you will find 5 to 10 scattered around the screen which is well within manufacturer tolerance. Just make sure there are no blocks of dead pixels in the general viewing area. Single dead pixels scattered around are normal, and when you back up 2 feet you won't even notice them, unless it's a big chunk!
Do the same thing for the black paper image and look for white or weird colored blocks.
