I have always thought about doing this. what diff sound will i get through my midranges. I am looking for a diff sound in my ID'S. Although the tweets shine in my coax setup, i think these drivers are just too colored. I am looking for a new front stage. A setup that will be not only loud but super detailed. I really like guitar in my music and want too enjoy my music more.

Thanks for all replys..

kinda the same question as in the other section. same answer - pics would help and what airspace does each driver have now?

not just finished pics, but construction pics as well.

If you are talking midrange (200hz and up range), you can likely get the airspace you need in the kick without cutting, and honestly the sealed enclosure may help you some (depending on speaker).

If you are talking midbass (40hz-200hz) then it is highly unlikely you will be able to get the airspace needed in your kickpanel. So if your speaker will play in free-air, then venting the kick to the outside is the only way to make that work.

Don't cut a hole just to say you cut a hole. Make it have a purpose.

This is 200 htz and up about 380 htz. I do have a coax style setup in the kicks and peerless midbasses in the doors. The midbasses are just fine. I would just hate too cut a hole in the back and nothing changed in sound. I also do have some polyfill in there and the air space the kicks have are the correct space for the ID Chamelons

I think it's more the crossover network you have that decides wheather you have that sound your loooking for. The drivers are a big part though too.

I am gona change these drivers and now the search will begin.

thanks for replies
