Hi, I planned on running 1 Orion 2500D amp or 2 Orion 2400D amps and 3 15" subs. I have had suggestions from RE SE, Kicker L7, Alpine type r, ID max, DD, Soundstream, etc. Alot of the discussion is around SQ. Im looking to deep and loud from within my monster size trunk. I do plan on porting through my rear deck though. This leads me to my original???

My vocals are two sets of MA Audio 525C 5.25 75rms component powered by ZX350.4. Do I need to add some 8" to fill in or that will be good?

Thanks

well, it's relative. i wouldn't be happy. you'll have a gap in midbass response. 8's would help. the issue is where to locate the 8 would go.

Would it have been better to get diffent size components say instead of getting both 5.25 say I got 5.25 and a 6.5?

Also does SQ of a woofer really matter if its in the trunk?

keep the same size comps. you want matching speakers.

on sq of a subwoofer, there is actually a big difference in subs. more sq oriented subs have more detail and also have strength to the lowest octaves.

if this is a daily driver, the 6.5's will be fine. i'd spend some money on a door kit from second skin and try to seal the doors up, that'll help the mids a lot.

Yes I have the MA Audio 525c 5.25 comps front and back being pushed by a Kicker zx350.4. I havent installed them yet since the car is being painted, upholstered, etc. Going in a 68 Cadi Coupe Deville.

i would put both sets up front, you'll need them. don't expect a ton of midbass out of those, even if you deaden and seal. i have those speakers in my car right now. also, expect the crossovers to give out fairly quickly.

eh, that's a big car. nothing wrong with rear speakers to fill it up with sound. i would be more concerned about cutting factory panels. either full custom or factory.

if you are getting doors done, then you should think about having some speaker pods made to look OEM. A 6.5" up front would help, make sure you have about 3" of usable depth that way you can upgrade easily later.

he's asking how much of a difference a sq sub will make since you can't really hear it in the trunk.

the answer is a lot, b/c the sq subs play the lower notes with better detail and authority, some of which you don't really hear so much as feel, but they bring life and realism to the music they're reproducing.
