...u know tha more IRREGULAR tha box is inside, the better it will sound... in a flat wooden box, it would NOT have sounded better than the fiberglass box.
Fiberglass has it's place in installation. It helps with odd shapes and if you want a cool glossy look. Enclosure design will vary especially with thickness of the material.
Now when you are talking about vented enclosures that incorporate a designed network of tubular vent area that is not the same as irregular shape.

You made reference to the Bose systems. If you look at the internals, it's a ported enclosure. It's plastic and not fiberglass. A wood enclosure wouldn't work because it would weigh a a lot.
Wood has been used for year and years for many reasons. One is it adds tonal quality to the drivers. This is a part of the overall sound quality of the speakers.

never said ANYTHING about fiberglass being better than wood...NEVER..... all i said is the more irregular the shape is....INSIDE THE BOX...will produce a better sound...meaning woodin ports, plastic ports, aeroports, jute, 4th order,, 9th ported boxes whatever...its not a simple square inside when u take out the sub...theres bends and chambers.... what is so hard to understand that?

This is where I guess we see things differently. The box in question was a ported enclosure. Had it been a square enclose of the same internal volume and same port area then the overall performance would be different. If irregular internals as you call them were the key to better sound quality why is it JL doesn't recommend that?

i bet if u built the one out of wood and put it next to that fiberglass box...the fiberglass box will have a smoother and better roll off............................

with the length of sound waves that subwoofers play, i don't think the bends really help that much. on a midrange, yes, break up the backwave. subwoofer, as long as it's not a perfect cube, you're fine. a single brace behind the sub or some polyfill would prolly be fine.

yeah but that's not what you said. you're talking about FG being better because of bends and contours. What if those contours perfectly redirected the backwave right at the subwoofer? Would it be better then?
and not a perfect cube means just that. not a 14x14x14 box. a 14x16x14 box isn't a perfect cube, and therefore would be fine.
also i'd be willing to bet a perfect cube with internal bracing would also be sufficient. You're just looking for something to keep that standing wave from perfectly reflecting back at the cone.
