I just started having an issue with my components cutting off when I turn the volume up. My equipment is alpine 9886 headunit kicker ks components running off a kicker 250.2 amp two 12" L7s running off a JBL 1200.1. Everything plays just fine until I turn the volume up past 21 on the deck then it starts cutting out and I have nothing but the subs playing for like 30 seconds or so. My early guess was a grounding issue, but it seemed pretty secure so im not too sure

1. disconnect the speakers from the amp. 2. measure the resistance (in ohms) between the speaker wires. 3. measure the resistance between each speaker wire and ground.
rewire whichever speakers have shorted wire. it might just be an issue at any connections - i.e. crossover or speaker.
