I have a 2009 nissan maxima. I thought about getting 2 sets of 6.5 Boston Acoustics pro series components for the front and rear. I just found out that the front speakers are 6 x 9. Should I get an adapter that will convert the 6 x9 opening to a 6.5? Has anyone ever used these adapters. I want to keep all the speakers the same brand. Or should I get MB Quarts all around. They are one of very few companies that make a 6x9 component set. Thanks!

yea, a 6x9 would be fine for midbass along with a 4" component set, but not as the midrange for a component set.
build a baffle out of MDF and seal up the doors with deadener. run the Boston.
my suggestion would be to pool your money and buy one better set for the front, forget the rear.

I currently have a kicker kx 200.4 amplifier. Will that be enough to push a pair of Boston Acoustics pro60 se 6.5 components, and a pair of boston acoustics coaxials (SL65) for the rear. Or will I need more power? If this amp is not powerful enough, what amp do you recommend from the kicker lineup.

are you saying that I should bridge the components on all 4 channels, and run the coaxials on the headunit? If I do that, won't the components overpower the coaxials, and I won't get a good range from all of my speakers? Thanks!

exactly, if you can hear the rear speakers you're doing it wrong. all of the sound should come from the front - like any other time you listen to music at home or at a concert.
do you go to a show and turn your back to the stage to listen to the band?
those rear coaxials will only make the system sound worse.
