does anyone make one? i ordered a honda premium audio mount, which is a double din plate that mounts where my single din kit is now, but the kit didn't come with any instructions, and the other pieces don't seem to just fit. does anyone know of a double din dash kit that i can just drop into place? Note this needs to go below the factory deck where the pocket usually is.

you're going to have to get the lower dash kit and modify it. The upper dash kit won't allow enough room to mount the unit and the HVAC controls.

no. I have the Honda OEM kit sitting in the floor, but the metal brackets don't seem to line up. At the worst, I'd have to glue mounts to the side. I'm going to take a closer look at it when the w200 comes in. Here's what I got:

i went by the shop today to look at getting this kit in. the pieces in the picture below bolt to preexisting holes in the frame along the walls on the inside of the pocket.

You have to mount a long flat piece and two smaller pieces in ahead of time, then bolt your deck to the side metal places and attach the faceplate, and the whole assembly will slide in. I didn't have time for them to tear into it today, so it's going to have to wait until I get back in town next week, but at least now I have a clear plan of what needs to be done.

side note: The faceplate is the perfect height for a double din, but it's a bit wider, so you'll have to build a blank plate for the sides, or flush it in.

you think you got it sorted out? Looking at the diagram I think I see what you were having trouble with, and it looks like you figured it out. as for flushing it in I have a fairly easy trick for that if you have a few hours.

yeah there are a couple of small brackets that we have to figure out how they mount in there, but other than that we got it.

As for flushing the face, I'm going to get a quote on cost from the local shop on how much he'll charge. Pretty much, they're going to fill in the gaps, then bondo it to make it smoothly flush up against the edge of the deck. Then I'll have it painted to match the other pieces in the interior.
