amp swap , cap question

i just bought a new amp and im going to install it myself. i have a 4 farat cap installed on my old amp. do i need to dicharge the cap before i hook up the new amp?

Take the cap out before installing the new amp. The cap is another thing for your battery to power and to be honest is a waste.

i want to kep the cap. just wanted to know if i ned to discharge it before i switch it
