And only it needs to be enough power to handle two 5 1/4 speakers, what would you recommend?
This amp will be mounted in a motorcycle fairing, so it has to be small and efficient!
Oh, and I will be replacing the speakers, but I figured I would save that for the speaker forum, but if you want to recommend that too, I am listening! Thanks!

Do this:
1. List power ratings of said speakers
2. Give us max dimension for available space on amp location
We can't just throw out random amps without knowing anything. Need to help us out if you want any help in return

Thanks SubNit,
The problem is that the speakers are stock and need to be replaced. I will be looking at options for the 5 1/4 speakers.
As for space, I have just about the size of a standard size head unit (Single DIN) above the current stock unit. Unfortunatly I don't have specific dimensions however any amp that could be put in the place of a stock head unit, would work.
As for power, again, that is not set in stone. I have been a fan of Boston Acoustic's older stuff, and it seems they have a new pro series in a 5 1/4 size that I believe are the 100 - 125w range that I would like to check out. The only issue with the BA's are they also have a crossover unit that will need to be mounted in the fairing, although they seem to be small enough I can tuck them in just about anywhere.
I guess the other consideration is that inside the fairing is not the most friendliest of places for this equipment, it can be subject to a lot of moisture and vibration.
Again, thanks!
Oh, the head unit is stock. Unfortunately that can't change because it has custom controls that go to the handle bars.

I am starting to think maybe two single mono amplifiers would be better than one stereo amplifier. Again, if the mono amps are small enough. It might be easier to tuck them in somewhere.

one option is a booster type EQ - those are typically 1/2 DIN with speaker level inputs and amplified outputs.
you won't find a small enough amp to fit in motorcycle dash - never mind any heat issues doing that.

Well it seems to me like this is something I would need to see in person to really help you out with, but since I can't you'll have to be the best judge of what's going to work.
Make a decision on what speakers you plan on running, then search around for an amp to run those speakers that will fit in your desired location. If your worried about vibration hurting the amplifier, I would look into sound deadening the location in which the amp will be mounted. If it's not too much trouble, look into doing a custom fiberglass compartment to repelace the old one. As for the moisture issue, maybe look into marine amplifiers if you can't get around that problem.
Like I said this is turning out to be something somone would really need to lay some eyes onto in order to know what they're working with so that they can help you. If your not bound by the constraints of money, take it up to a custom shop and see what they say.
Good Luck

Alpine makes a 40x4 rms amplifier that's about half the size of a head unit. It's designed to go behind the head, as HU power is typically only 11rms x4.

^ that's right, i remember that as being an add-on for an in-dash monitor, correct? i didn't think it was sold separately for use with any head unit.
