I'm going for a SQ setup. I'm looking to pair the Audison LRX 1.400 with a pair of diamond audio d3 subs.

Subs
4ohm
Power Handling NOM/MAX: 400/800 watts

amp
1 Ohm Stable

High Pass Crossover

Low Pass Crossover

1 Pair RCA Outputs: Hi-Pass or Bypass

RCA Input

Subsonic Bypass

Signal to Noise Ratio 105dB
RMS Output 1 x 350 Watts @ 4 Ohms

RMS Output 1 x 650 Watts @ 2 Ohms

RMS Output 1 x 900 Watts @ 1 Ohm

Dimensions: 370mm L x 176mm W x 56mm H

Subsonic Filter

The amp will give me 900 watts at a 1ohm load, but I'm wondering will that extra 100 watts be to much for the subs? Also I hear Audison makes some good amps, but I'm having trouble finding reviews on this amp. Anyone have it info as to if this amp is good or not? Also the specs say the amp is 1 ohm stable, however I'm a little worried about running the amp at a 1 ohm load? Should I be?

if you have a pair of 4 ohm DVC subs you can wire them for 1 or 4 ohm mono. personally, i don't recommend 1 ohm loads for a daily driver SQ setup, but a 4 ohm mono load won't help you much.

you'll only get the maximum RMS out of the amp playing test tones or near clipping. be wise with your gain settings and volume control and it'll be the right amount of power.

overall it should be fine. how it will sound will depend more on the enclosure.

I really didn't want to go for a 1ohm load myself. I think i'm going to try and find another amp. Got any in mind that may work out?

alpine pdx 1.1000 can do 1000RMS at 2 or 4 ohms. be sensible when you tune and with the volume knob and the extra power won't be a problem.

those amps will destroy a speaker that cannot handle that much power. set the gains according to the desired amount of output power and the signal level from the head unit. if you plan on cranking the volume to maximum - adjust your gain setting to the HU output at that level.

The more I learn the harder this project is becoming. Anyways, learning is good. So lets say I use the guide here http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=143 along with not using any bass boost or turning my volume more then half way, what are the chancing of me killing my speakers. I'm thinking that above guide will help me set the gain on my amp but what about the signal level from the head unit that you speak of?

yes, follow that. JL has awesome information in their manuals and on their website.
