Well, I logged into my cardomain page for the first time in a while, and remembered it had almost all my old systems still in the pics, and since im bored as hell, i figured id post em up.
First system, I had my license for 2 days before this was in. 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 12's with a zapco ag 350. This is in my old caviler

About that time, I discovered a small company called resonant engineering. This was well before they got huge and turned into what they are now.
So I ordered myself a single HC 12''
About that time, they also came out with the RE 35.1d amp, 1500 watts at 1 ohm (sub was a dual 2, so perfect match)

This is about the time things started taking off. after a few weeks, I decided 1 HC 12'' wasnt enough, so I ordered a 2nd
And of course, I needed a new box now.
Finished box, "spl port" was tuned to 42hz to peak at 49-50hz
Heres a port plug, brought the tuning down to the low 30hz range
I would rebuild that style box probably 5 times over the next year, tweaking things a lil bit each time trying to get it louder

I then upgraded my crappy pioneer headunit (was a 4400) with an eclipse 7002 indash screen with cd changer
Pics of subs in the car
Then I came across a CRAZY deal for a "better audio" amp. It was the EXACT same amp as my RE, just a different logo on it.
Tried facing the box forward, was actually a bit louder. Look at that rats nest of wires! And that AWSOME DHD amp someone gave me for free for my highs. Didnt last long thats for sure

I got some infinity kappa plate speakers for the doors for christmas that year, so it was time to break out the zapco again and power them with that
The zapco amp broke (rca connection) so I had to put the DHD back in for a short time. I moved all the amps to the back, and at that time I realized that my elec system was hurting. I had a new alt in the car, and added 2 "tsunami power pumpers" in the back, you can kinda see one on each side in this pic

At that point, I went off to college and "quit" for about a year. I sold of pretty much everything. After that year, I got a new victim to work on. My girl got a 97 4 door blazer, and I drove that a hell of a lot more then my caviler so i decided to do an install in that
About that time, RE came out with a new sub, the SX. I decided to pick up a dual .7 15''
I also found 2 more RE 35.1d amps to power this

I build the new box like a TANK. Ended up being like 5 cubes after displacement, 3/4" threaded rod bracing
I guess I never took any pictures, but the little shelf on top was hinged in the back, and it folded up to reveal the power/ground distribution

At that point, I wanted to get back into "spl" so I bought some new equipment for my caviler. I stumbled upon a new company, AudioQue (the owner is the father of the guy who owns/runs DigitalDesigns) and the subs are basically DD's top of the line sub, just alot cheaper. They kept cost down by not doing all the fine tooling like the DD's have, but they got pretty damn loud, and at like 1/2 the cost.

I also went out and bought 4 modded MTX 1501d's

I also build a HUGE box to go in the car. It was so big I had to take the trunk lid/hinges completely off and kick the box in. When I sold the car, the box was still in it, the only way it was coming out was destroying it.

Had to have the aeros sticking out

Talk about a MESS! At this point, I was changing this so often, that I didnt bother to make things look nice

I also picked up 2 G31 yellow tops (the BIG ones) and somehow crammed one on each side of the box

Everything in!

Shortly after that, the cav started having a cooling problem, so I said fawk it, sold the car and bought myself a suv (this was when gas was still like $1.50 damnit!)

This was the truck 45 min after I picked it up from the dealer

At that time, I got a competitor accommodation from PowerBass, and sold my MTX amps, and picked up 2 xa3000ds (2 more at a later time)

I went to SLAP finals that year. Ended up taking 2nd by like .1db or something crazy like that.
Heres the finals install (I drove from NY to MD without a single piece of audio equipment installed, I installed everything and set everything up the night before in the parking lot!)
I got 2 8d batts (tractor batts, about 140lbs each!) and more rats nest wiring!

I then traded my 2 12''s for 4 soundstream 15'' t4's

I put in 2 to test them out

Liked it, so I decided to go all out and build a box for the 4

The space under the amps actually contained 1 of the 8d batts to power the 2 powerbass 3000d's

Then it came time for a new box for the 15''s

Thing was a BEAST, weighted like 400+ pounds loaded up

I then went out and bought 5 NorthStar Battery NSB 125's

At that time, everything moved around too much, and I realized I needed a base to put things on. I u-bolted this down to the factory tie downs, actually worked REALLY good

For some reason I never took a pic of the amps in there? But it was 2 SoundStream xxx6500's on a rack ontop of the batts
Well after that, A friend of mine was moving across country, he didnt want to take 2 vehicles, so he sold me his 96 blazer with a wall of 8 Fi audio Q 15''s already installed. I just had to add my batteries and amps, and went to DbDrag world finals in 2007 and took 3rd place

truck when i got it

As for electrical: all 12v
The cav had a stock 105 amp alt (that I replaced 3 times LOL gotta love warranty), with a everstart maxx under the hood, and at one point 2 tsunami power pumper batts in the back- equal to svr-80s i think? Then at the end it had the everstart under the hood, and 2 g31 yellows in the back.
The mountaineer had a 140 amp alt in it( i think?) and then all the extra batteries that you see (ranging from 8d's, to yellow tops, to NSBs)
The blazer has a 180 amp ohio gen alt in it. Ive got a 2nd 200 amp alt for it, but i have to have a bracket made, and remove the ac unit (doesnt work well anyway) but I just havent got around to it. The amps I have are pretty efficient, and how it is, i dont really have any voltage problems
As for a fav...thats a TOUGH one. I might honestly have to say the first system with the kappa perfects and the zapco amp. It was the quietest install of them all, but it still holds LOTS of sentimental value for me.
The funny thing is, I sold the subs and box, and it made it around to like a dozen different people in the city I live in. A year ago, I was talking to a friend of mine, and they said their little brother had actually bought my old subs. They are still kicking around, someone switched the box though

Marty, that's seriously one of the messiest installs I've ever seen. I know, pretty doesn't equal loud, but still, man, clean up your wires before you burn that thing to the ground.

also, is that port plug a removeable thing or is it in for good? Im lookin at building a box for 2 RE audio SE15s, and its gunna be my DD but something i can take and have a fun time with, do a little bass racing when an event is close enough. I was thinking of making 2 boxes, but if you can do a plug like that...
Also, since you have had a similar car, blazer but a diff year, and you have competed, ive read somewhere in the rules the enclosure must be below the top of the rear seats, is that right? I only ask cuz you got a similar car, but you were probably in a different class.
