I have been out of the loop for awhile but im wanting to get some 2 way comps for my truck. I want to stay in like the $200-150 price range. Im looking at the Image Dynamics CTX65CS Image Dynamics CTX65CS and have read they are pretty nice for the price. Are there any other options i should look at in that price range that arent harsh sounding?
Also, any recomendations on an amp no more than about $200? Does anyone know of a link to wiring comps, i need a refresher since its been like 3 years since i messed with any speaker wiring. thanks

Image Dynamics makes nice stuff. I've also had good luck with Alpine Type-R and Eclipse Point Source.
for wiring diagrams - just look at the owner's manual. it will always have good wiring diagrams. you can download owner's manuals from a manufacturers website to review before you buy. I always read manuals BEFORE i buy electronics to verify what they can and can't do.
$200 is a tiny budget for an amp. your best bet is to look for one used or previously owned - try our classifieds section.

The type r's are also an option im looking at. Another option are these since i read they are also pretty good for the price? One thing, it says it is 100hz high pass does that mean it wont play down to where my subs would be crossed at like 70 i think so would i be missing from 70ish to 100ish range?
I need a 2 channel amp right? I quickly looked over some good brands and would any of these be worth it?

i personally would never buy a CDT product. i've heard enough industry experts and seasoned competitors opinions to direct my money elsewhere. a 6.5 should play down to 50Hz.
Zapco and US Amps are great. Orion isn't what it used to be, I haven't seen any of their new stuff.
You could also buy a 4 channel amp and bridge it or run it active to the comps - more flexibility than 2 channels.

Im just going passive for now and i could use the amp for a sub down the road if something else comes up. You dont want a class d for comps right? Would this amp be a good choice for the comps? Im also trying to figure out how exactly the power would be sent to the comps since it says 100x2@ 4ohms and there are 4 total speakers of tweets and mids? I havent dealt with comps so bare with me,lol.

This amp says 180W × 1 @4 ohm Mono, can you wire components like this and it wont lose any SQ? If any1 has a link to info like this would work wonders, lol.

don't think about components as two speakers, woofers and tweeters play different frequencies so they are seen as one 4 ohm load.
that US Amps model looks fine. you would need to buy two of those Eclipse amps. but you are starting to see what I suggest with a 4 channel amp. bridge a four channel amp and you'll get the most power out of that amp. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=3807 that 4 channel Eclipse EA4000 does 75x4 or 150x2 bridged. http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/ea4000.html

yea, i think that would work well.
remember that how good those comps will sound is totally determined by their installation.
