2000 Watts...what amp?

I just bought these two 12" Sony Explode subwoofers in a ported enclosure with 2000 Watt peak power and 600 Watt RMS...i was thinking of goin with with an 1800 Watt amp...is that a good idea? im askin cuz this is my first system so im new to this...thnks...

no it's not a good idea. you need to find out what the impedance is for those and get an amp that does 600 watts RMS at that impedance. put that 1800-2000 watts through those subs and you will see smoke.

buy a sony amp so that the ratings are similar. get an amp that is 600RMS and 1800W Peak. realize that regardless of the peak rating - you want to stay under 600W RMS.
