Safe to run wire UNDER the amp?

I am working on the install of my 08 Honda CRV. I am putting a 4 channel amp and so far it is going good. The only problem is the layout of the amp.
Here is a simple drawing of how my trunk looks like, where I want the amp and how the wiring goes.

I can simply turn the amp around but the words will be upside down.
So I was thinking of building an amp rack, and raise the amp up an inch or two and let the wires run UNDER the amp. Is that safe?

im sure someone will chime in saying something bad can happen, but just use common sense and it should be fine. make sure there or no sharp edges touching the wire and use your fuses...

done it plenty of times...
use spacers if you are worried about the wires getting pinched

i would never rest an amp on top of wires, the concerns are a. pinching them b. damaging the insulation c. melting the insulation
It is fine to route them behind, or under an amp as long as they are not touching the amp.
you have the right idea - cut a small board the size of the amp to mount the amp to. put some 1" wood pieces (1x1 trim) on the sides to allow space underneath, screw the amp board to the 1x1 trim. secure the 1x1 pieces to the floor with L-brackets. carpet, done.

Thanks for the tip everyone. I will build the amp rack when I get the chance. As of right now, the amp is backward. Not really a big deal since I don't pop my trunk for anyone.

Just use spacers so the amp isn't pressing on the wire and you'll be totally fine. I usually mount an amp to a board, then put the board up on spacers and drill holes to run the wires through the board and under it.

exactly. the end result could have holes for the wires to bass through so they are mostly hidden like this (on top anyway)

or this

or flush it like this
