Have a really powerful but cheap Ozaki 5.1 sound system hooked up to my computer at home, and it has recently developed a popping issue. If I leave it turned on for a few hours, or on standby, without putting any sound out, it'll start making a 'popping' noise, and won't stop until I leave it turned off at the powerpoint for a few hours. I figured it must be something to do with it constantly drawing power and then releasing it, but it's getting really annoying and I don't know how to fix it. Any ideas?

sounds like it might be failing. does it have an auto turn-on sensing circuit? that could be cycling.

No, its pretty much got no features whatsoever. I thought it might be the sound card in my PC too, but I changed it to CD player and it made no difference. Mind you, it's 3 years old, the power button has fallen out, the volume control doesn't work and the grills keep falling off the speakers, so it probably is time for a new one.
