Hi All! I am helping a friend with an Avic N1 that has an XM head unit. I am trying to install a 3.5 jack which is turning out to be daunting! I drop the dash cover and find two head units- which I'm being told is normal. The two units are connected via the audio out on the XM unit and audio in on the main head unit. The main head unit is then connected via the bus cable.
The only option I can see is attaching the 3.5 cable to the bus cable socket on the XM unit. When I do this I get nothing! I even got so annoyed as to unplug the XM unit and plug directly into the main unit.
I thought maybe the setup needed to be adjusted- but the menu doesn't even highlight that option.
Is there something I'm missing?
