I have an 08 Se that has the Bose 6 disc with the screen (but no nav). Here is my delema. I wanted to install a new head unit (Kenwood 8120) but can't because the dealer says the ac and heat are hooked up to the screen and without the screen I loose them. I also want nav but don't want the little plug and play unit out. I would love to add the dock housing 999Q5-KU001 but it is only for the E model (different dash). Here's where I need your help. Has anyone put in or had put in an aftermarket head unit in thes model truck? Or has anyone modified the Garmin housing to fit this dash. If so please send pics to me at hammo310@comcast.net. All input is appreciated Thanks!

welcome to Sound Domain. many newer vehicles integrate the factory radio and climate controls. it makes installing aftermarket gear very difficult and expensive. you may need to leave the factory radio in the vehicle to retain climate controls, i don't think there is a stand alone climate control unit available... yet. you can modify or move the factory radio if the factory location is desired for a new HU, but i don't see any place for it. The PAC OEM-2 should allow for interconnection to the factory Bose amplifiers and speakers. I don't see anything specific for that vehicle on the PAC-Audio or Peripheral websites that will supplement the factory climate controls.
another option is to get the dumbed down climate control option that isn't built into the factory radio, then replace the HU.
what is your goal with this vehicle/system? what do you want a new HU for that a factory option cannot provide? do you plan on replacing every speaker/amp/wire in the car or just a new HU?
i have never worked with this vehicle, but 20 minutes of searching the most common OEM sites and the Nissan site yielded nothing.

^that's a good point for anyone looking to buy a new vehicle with plans for an aftermarket system.
basically, you'll want to buy the cheaper factory options - to keep it all looking stock. you should be able to sell the package options you have for more. there are plenty of people who want that (though I have no idea why).

This is completely off topic, but this message is for keep_hope_alive. What is the name of the artist or image on your signature? The gold face with the blue accents.
