A few months ago I redeadened my car with second skin products. I will have a write up coming soon hopefully. Summary though---tremendous improvement. The car is dead.
As part of that entire rebuild, which I am still in the process of ironing out, I moved my midbass drivers to the floor. The install was done nicely and I don't have any floor vibrations, but as part of that we had to recarpet my entire car. The car had a dark charcoal carpet in it from the factory. The replacement carpet is dark black--much better.
So my floor mats no longer matched, and they didn't fit correctly because of the kickpanels. I was going to have Matworks out of Atlanta just make me some but I ran out of time and didn't get them the pattern in time. I decided to steal an idea from my friend Rick Sellers and just make some---but I decided it would be nice to have some floormats that also served a nice purpose other than appearance
First--the floormat I bought at wal-mart:

Second--Cutting it so that it fits around the kickpanel

Next---Luxury Liner Pro glued to the floor mat

Next: Overkill Pro glued to the luxury liner pro (I used scraps from other products here---obviously)

Finally--carpeted with carpet that matches the floor of my car:

and in place (hard to see because the carpet is an exact match):

The passenger and driver's mat together.

Like I said I didn't have floor vibrations to begin with, but these 100% assure that nothing is moving under my feet. This only took about an hour to complete. So for those looking for a method to isolate your feet from your floor, I highly suggest something like this. The second skin products work nicely.

"isolate your feet from the floor".
I like that idea. I've got the Honda all-weather mats (thick rubber). Those actually might be good enough for this purpose, but I might have to steal your idea depending on how Steve does the kicks. I have enough spare pieces of LLP laying around that I might be able to pull that off, too.
Thanks for the idea, Andy.

^and continuing on into the early week. I got high just going to get lunch a little while ago.
Should have built these a bit earlier than I did
Stitching would be nice. I may need to do some modification to these. still playing with them. They work great though. I have no vibrations at all, and they are actually really comfortable. I drive with my shoes off a lot, and these are so much better than just the floor (even though the floor has a good amount of foam on it also).

^ LMAO
that pattern actually was on purpose--the seat brackets are in the way, so that bump was on purpose. I made fun of Rick about it, and he corrected me with a "I don't make mistakes bish" pimp slap and showed me why he cut that pattern that way
I have straightened out those waves along the edges--that was immediately after wrapping. I had some glue issues that I had to fix.
Unfortunately my car still smells like glue. that stuff is still drying. But it works very well. I've left them in all week and I love the way they feel driving around.

Ok, I'm going to try and explain it--try and keep up.
1. There is no deadener on those floor mats. Not one piece of Second Skin damplifier not any other mat deadener was used on those floor mats. Look---do you see any shiny silver?
2. I have midbass drivers that recieve over 350 watts of power and play down to 40hz and sometimes 31.5hz with authority. I do not have a coaxial mounted in the door or some 4" driver in the kick. These are panels molded directly to the metal of the vehicle.
3. They are done very well. As I stated above, I didn't have much if any floor vibrations to begin with. I did need new floor mats though because the factory ones didn't fit around the kickpanel. So I had a choice--I could half ass it and just put some aftermarket floor mats in, or I could build some that worked and could serve a purpose in the event a judge went wild with the volume. So since I compete and the goal of competing is to push the envelope, I went the second route.

Apparently crink does not compete, or just does not want to win. Otherwise he would have already done this to his mats, just like everyone else who has seen this thread.
Have you ever felt 31.5hz in a floorboard? Betcha' it vibrates like a bi*ch.

Just make sure you put something down on the bottom of the mat to grip the existing carpet. It makes it hard to get traction while entering the car.....LOL....
