I have a new system that I am to Install. Its only 1 L7 15 inch 2OHM but its the new 08 model. \:\) I have 2 sx650.1 amps to power it b/c it was much cheaper than getting the 1250.1 model.

I'm planning on hookng up 1 amp to 1 coil and the other amp to the other coil. That way I have each "system" running at 2 ohms which the amps need to run at to have full power.

THe problem is I have a sealed enclosure and there is only ONE set of terminals to go inside the box. How do I therfore hook up the two amps to the terminals? Can I jsut hook both up to the box on the outside and split the inside into 2 wires for the positive and 2 for the negative and just hook one of each to both coils? Im sorry if this is confusing at all but if you understand what I am trying to do let me know how to do it properly. THanks!

You need some very expensive equipment to match the output of the amps to make this work correctly... you should have bought the 1250.1

truf. you may have saved 40 bucks, but you made the install a million times more difficult and if you do attempt to hook it and don't match the output of the two amps exactly (and it's not as simple as just making sure all of the dials are in the exact same position) you will be out your new sub.

U answered part of my question. I cant just hook the 2 amps together on the one set of terminals. but...

It should work somehow with out much difficulty.... If it were ported I could just run each set of wires through the port to the coils and there would be no problem.(eliminating the terminals for the box) Is that the route I should take?..... Or I could remove the stock terminals on the box and put 4 instead of 2...

And the beauty of the kicker sx amps is that you can group them together so that you control a group as 1 amp. That way you dont have to match the settings for the gain and everything else.
SO I dont have that as a problem... \:\)

THanks for the help guys!!

ok, i didn't realize that amp was strappable. all you have to do is connect the amplifier with the supplied cable. what you will have to do is wire the sub in series since the minimum accepted impedance is 4 ohms when strapped and then connect it to the master amp. you will make your sound adjustments on the master amp as well.

Series Wiring for a Dual 2 ohm woofer:

thanks for the info. I should have realized that I needed to strap them but I was worried that I couldnt achieve the 4ohm load the amps would need to be strapped. Now I know otherwise. Im glad this all worked out and Im looking forward to be BUMBIN later tonight. Thanks again you guys are great!!
