I decided to deaden the rear doors. Mitsubishi's idea of sound deadening was a plastic vapor barrier and Styrofoam. Here is the door stripped naked.
The inner skin of the door panel was liner with Second Skin Damplifier Pro.
I cut sheets of ABS to make access panels. These removable panels will allow access to the window regulators if they ever need to be serviced.
Small patches of Damplifer was used on the back sides of the panel to add support.
The metal on the door was deadened before the deadened ABS plates were mounted to the door.
Here are a few finished door shots. I used AC duct tape to seal off the edges. If I ever need to access the regulators I can remove a few screws and make any needed repairs.

Murph, what difference did that make? I've been toying with the same idea on my sedan.

Great work Murph. What is the trick up near the rod where the inside door handles connects to the outside door handles? That is the part that has me confused. Obviously you want to seal it as much as possible, but you have to let the rods continue to move.
Thanks

For the record the rear doors were not deadened for rattling. They didn't rattle when I started and don't rattle now.
They were deadened to cut down on road noise. I want it quieter in my car.

So today I finished the front doors. The batteries died on my camera before I finished. I added the Speaker Tweaker pads to the front door.

the pad just needs to be behind the woofer, and at least the same diameter. i used bigger ones on mine just b/c there wasn't much difference in price, and i didn't think it could hurt. If they made sheets of the same stuff, I'd have covered my whole inner door with it.

Optical illusion.... The pad is bigger than the hole. The door is deadened and the pad is there for the speaker.

just buy several and make an array. shipping would be cheaper at this size anyway.
