I am upgrading my mids and highs and need a little help. I have 2 cerwin vega strokers with a kicker 1000.l, Pioneer p4000 head unit, and 4 pioneer 6x8 3 way speakers in my doors. I am wanting to add some more highs so what is my best route. I was thinkin of installin 4 6.5s in the sides of my center console and than maybe putting 6 6.5s in a small box right behind my front seat. ((I have no back seat because my subs wouldnt fit with it in there so I took it out)) So that would be 4 6x8s and 10 6.5s. Is that a good idea or no? Also what are some amp(s) to power these. Thanks

nothing you add should be behind you. you want all the highs, midrange, and midbass to come from the dash/kicks/front doors, respectively. get a large midbass driver (or two) in your front doors - no smaller than 7". if you can get them in the floor that's even better. then get several 5.25" component sets for your mids and highs. with the midbass drivers you won't want/need 6.5" speakers, plus a 5.25" driver can play higher, which allows you to use a higher crossover point for the tweeter - increasing it's power handling and extending it's life.
try to get a pair of 5.25" per kick, locate the tweeters either with them in a coaxial arrangement, or on the dash. you'll find that putting speakers behind you isn't as efficient as putting them in front of you (let alone setting up any sound stage). others have loaded their front doors with speakers, but it's far from idea. try to keep similar speakers in groups so they play together.
adding speakers to the center console won't yield very good results (typically)
that will give you a lot of clean volume.
