Hi, I have 2 12" eclipse subs running on a kicker 2 channel amplifier. I Got all new wires, 4 guage wire for the battery and the ground, and i just bought new RCA wires. But when I keep my gain on my amp low, it randomly starts to bump or thump, when the music is not playing. But wen i put the gain up high, it does a helicopter type noise and it is really annoying.

I thought that the ground was a problem so i drilled a new whole and used a new bolt with a new wire, but that was not the case. I am also using 16 guage speaker wire for the subs.

If you could help me and tell me why my sub is randomly bumping, or wen I put the gain up, why it sounds like a helicopter, i would greatly appreciate it.

unplug the rcas and see if it still does it... if not, you may need to upgrade the headunit ground

Did you use the ground in the factory harness? If so, you need to run a new wire (14-12ga) directly to the floor pan. The factory radio ground is often tied with many other devices and is a common cause of source noise.
