This post is a one stop place for everyone to post their experience with Sound Deadening material. Let us know: What kind of Vehicle? What type of material was used? (ie. Foam, Matt, liquid) Did it hold up to the test of time? Would you use it again?
Be sure and add any pictures you have as well.

In my 1995.5 Isuzu Rodeo I used the Original Dynamat on most of the floor. This truck was built as cheaply as possible. Good ole made in America Japanese vehicles. I heard every rock that bounced up and hit the under body. Then I added Dynamat. We had to use a torch to heat up the material. Once it was almost a liquid it fused together and stuck to the floor. Way too much work but it gave me a much quieter ride in my tin can truck.
Original is hard to work with and requires a lot of prep work and a good heat source. Use either a heat gun or a torch.
Later on I added Dynamat Extreme under the front seats and up to the fire wall. This took care of the rest of the under body noise issues I had. Dynamat Original C Dynamat Extreme A

2001 Honda civic with 75 sqft of B Quiet. I deadened all 4 doors, the roof, floor, rear deck, trunk and trunk lid. The B Quiet was very easy to work with but thinner than I was used to compared to Dynamat Extreme. Because it was thinner I had to double up in many areas. Over all it worked very well. It was a little messy but I expected that after using Dynamat.

After 4 years it's held up very well. It's still holing on. B Quiet B

On my new car I decided to try Second Skin Damplifer Pro. I was a little skeptical after using Dynamat Extreme which I knew was the best product out there. At least I thought I new that until after trying Damplifier Pro now I know I was wrong.
The Damplifier is a cleaner product to use. No excess goo like the Extreme. The aluminum backing is thicker and I can honestly say I did not cot my hands once using this product. As an installer bleeding hands is nothing new to me. I expect it when using Extreme. So needless to say the absence of blood made for an easier install. Have you ever seen an installers band aid?
So far I have covered all 4 doors, the floor and the hatch area. In the hatch I had terrible noise from the exaust. Even though it took replacing the muffler to fix the sound issue, the Damplifer did reduce the exterior noise and cut down on vibration.

I used RaamMat BXT on my Civic and on some parts of my Accord. No cuts, but the butyl was a bit messy. It definitely got the job done. I used Damp Pro on other parts of my car. The aluminum is definitely thicker, and I did cut the hell out of my hands with it. The butyl was less gooey, but held just as well. Both products get an A+ from me, but I felt the Damplifier Pro was thicker and did a better job of deadening. Of course, it also costs more, so you get what you pay for.

I have some Dynamat Original on the bottom (trunk side) of my rear deck, and now (it's been about 18 months since install) it is starting to fall off.

Before I read any reviews on deadener from our SD members, I went the cheap route and got standard Fatmat - the thinnest stuff you can legally buy outside of Mexico. It didn't smell, and being thin meant it was very easy to apply. Good adhesion with a properly prepped surface. One layer is better than without, but not enough to be considered "deadened". The areas with 3 layers seem very well deadened.
While Fatmat is cheaper than the rest, the additional time and material applying multiple layers makes it pointless. I would not buy it again, I would go with Second Skin based on recommendations.
the trunk lid was stuffed with polyfill after deadening - i didn't want to seal up holes for running factory wires.

I've used everything over the years, starting with the Original Dynamat. The asphalt based Dynamat worked well, with multiple layers, but as Murph said, it required a torch to properly adhere. The new vinyl/butyl rubber and aluminum Dynamat Extreme is great for the money. I give it an A
On my current car (HCHII) I've used both Dynamat Extreme and Second Skin Damplifier Pro. The Damplifier is CONSIDERABLY thicker than the Dynamat Extreme, ergo it is a bit more difficult to apply, but well worth it. I've been able to use a single layer of Damplifier vs. 2 layers of Extreme, so it actually ends up costing less.
Dynamat Original - C Dynamat Extreme - A Second Dkin Damplifier Pro - A+
Now I've added Second Skin Liquid Liner - A+ and Second Skin Luxury Liner - A+
the liquid liner is excessively messy, but it's incredible as far as deadening, the luxury liner is an open/closed cell foam composite with vinyl. This makes the Civic (a tin can) Lexus quiet. Granted, I've added 200 pounds of deadener, it's worth it. I can talk on the phone with my bluetooth in a library voice and be heard clearly.

i have always been a DYNAMAT extreme person, that was until i used HUSHMAT. Between these 2 materials i have no need to use anything else. Well let's just say, ive seen other stuff, but both of these have worked well for me in the past. I'll have to dig up some pics later
