Okay I have an 02 VW Jetta with a Viper 791XV. With the stock alarm I had progressive unlock (hit unlock one, the driver's door unlocks, hit unlock again, all doors unlock). When I had the 791XV installed they just set it to double pulse on unlock.

I was looking over the installation manual randomly today and I noted that I could setup Ch.4/5 to do second unlock output (progressive unlock).

 Quote:
H2/4 WHITE/BLACK channel 5 output
Second unlock output: This output can also be programmed to provide a second unlock pulse whenever the
disarm button is pressed within 15 seconds after disarming the system. This setting could be used to unlock the passenger doors when installing progressive door locks, for instance.

Is this a simple one wire tap to get this to work? If so, does anyone have any info on which wire I would need to tap. Thanks in advance!

It can be done but it's a lot of work.
You need to use a relay off of unlock to trigger factory disarm and the driver door lock motor. Then another relay to unlock all doors off the white/black.

I believe on my car an unlock pulse sent to the driver doors triggers the factory disarm. I think...I use to have the DEI sheet but I lost it a while ago and I think I remember seeing that. Would that eliminate the need for the 1st relay you mentioned?

What is the purpose of the 2nd relay? Thanks again Murph!

You locks are double pulse. First pulse disarms the alarm and the second unlocks all doors. The white/black is only 500ma and I would suggest a relay to trigger unlock off that black/white.

Hmmm, ok. How would I wire up the relay?

85 - white/black
86 - constant
87 - ground
30 - unlock wire

I'm just going off with my limited knowledge of relays here. Would that be right?

You have the unlock wire connected right now.

Power Unlock green/red or yellow/green (double pulse) - driver door module in door
On models without power windows, this wire can be found at the comfort module located under the driver side dash.
