just remember that the bigger the box, the less air support you're providing for the sub. also, (if i remember correctly) ported boxes offer very little support below the tuning frequency, so it's like you're playing the sub with no enclosure at all.
you can't hurt the sub by putting it in that box, but you need to be careful and listen for the sub distorting or bottoming out. if you hear either of those, turn it down. also, it might be boomier than you're wanting, but i don't know what your final goals are.
well it says for a ported box either 3 cu ft or 6 cu ft. and i believe the book specs for the port they give are 40 hz but i wanted it to hit the lower notes a little more because all i listen to is rap
I want it to hit as hard as i possibly can but at the same time i want it to hit the lower notes hard as hell. all i listen to is rap so thats why i'm tuning it for 33 hz.
and i'd buil one for 6 cu ft if i had the room. it's in a 95 integra so 5 is the most i can get out of it.
i've been thinking about building one for 3 to 3.5 cu ft to just to see how it does but before i think about that i'm going to see how this box does. i'm hoping to have it built in the next two days. maybe if i get lucky i'll get to it today.
