depends on your application and use of volume. at stop lights you'll probably notice dimming. also who makes the amp? what is the fusing on the amp?

I want to go inexpensive. Kole Audio 3000 Watts max 1 ohm stable. Got good reviews. It has (3)-30amp fuses on it. My vehicle is a Daily driver. The sub i wanna power is rated at 1500watts rms(underrated) and the max is 4000. I know that 1700watts rms is not a whole lot of power to the sub but I'm sure it will still sound decent. I would like to know what i can do so my alternator wont burn out or cause a fire. I heard about the big three upgrade. There is only one problem with that. My car battery is under the back seat(factory) LOL. If you could help me out in any way that would be greatly appreciated.

FYI - 3-30A fuses would allow 1260W input max (@14V) which is ~650W output maximum at the lowest rated impedance.
Most likely you'll be giving your sub ~300-400W.

Have you ever heard 1700 wrms on one subwoofer before? That's really, really loud.

it says its rated at 1700 watts rms into 1ohm so i dont know why they would only put 90 amps on there. I was wondering about that.

So how many amps do you think my alternator can handle from an amp if its a 140 amp alternator?

Keep in mind that output is only at the peak of it's curve, which occurs at a small band of RPM. It is much, much less at idle.
60A of music at idle would probably cause dimming depending on what else the car is doing (i.e. lights, fan, etc). Electric fans draw a lot of power themselves, as do lights.
