just got the car, i'm 18, built it all myself. i want to do this for a career if anybody has advice or something to say to that. 2 phoenix gold 12's 2 phoenix gold amps (2 channel, 4 channel) jvc headunit with built in hdradio/ipod rockford fosgate 6X9s rear rockford fosgate 6.75's front. i assumed they were 6.5 when i bought em... gonna have to custom mount those in the doors. right now 1 screw has them in there, but it works pretty good lol, but unattractive
i'm upgrading to big 3, getting an optima battery, high output alternater, and doing sound deading next.
each box took 8 hours due to complicated hinges i had to make valleys for. 3 studs per box are welded to the trunk floor that come through the box bottom. remove the speaker, to remove the nuts on the studs, to remove the box. i wanted access to my tire, and access to the cabin to possibly haul 2X4s from home depot.
i want to thanks crutchfield, i love them

Not bad at all for a first system. I would suggest making some covers to hide the wires and your radio installation kit is upside down. Not that it matters but as an installer that stuff bugs me. Good job

those speakers don't look like they are sealed to the door. are they open in the back? they have to be sealed to the door with clay or foam or something to create an airtight seal and eliminate rattles. most likely they will end up being behind the plastic door panel (unless you cut that out and make a new grill).
They should seal up something like this:

get them sealed asap....you're getting tons of cancellation by leaving them open.
ps lol at your a/c knobs.

on some cars, i think it looks better with the pocket on top.

i don't see how it could be upside down. i didn't think the mounts were mirrored.

that dash kit (looks like a scosche) just clips in....there aren't any mounts/screws/bolts/etc
the metra kit is the same way although i believe there is a rear support mount though if i can remember correctly.

it's upside down, the clips "clipped" more securley the way i have it, and it doesn't matter which way it goes, and i don't care if it's on top or bottom, nobody riding with me's pointing it out.
