I have a 94 integra that needs a alarm system. Just looking for a two way budget system that does the job...

I have no experience at all installing alarms. I have read a handful of topics in this section of the forum though. The only wiring I have ever done is speaker wiring. Do you guys think I could pull off installing this with the manuals: http://sonicelectronix.com/item_8608_Astra+777+by+ScyTek+Industries+ASTRA-777.html ?

Was just wondering if its a decent alarm and whether I could pull it off myself.

And just for curiosity... generally speaking.. how much would it cost to have this alarm installed professionally?

I am talking about where the alarm is well hidden...

Spend a little more and get a better alarm.

You can get a Viper 3002 installed for $300
Labor is $150 by itself.

Guess I can invest a little more... but I will have to wait a little longer to get that.

I am guessing that... Astra < AutoPage < Viper 3002?

That viper system is one of their most basic models correct?

The viper is a good two way alarm.

What are the differences among the AutoPage and the Viper?

And between a regular car alarm and a two way pager?

I am a newbie at this stuff and I don't really understand this stuff or know which is better then what. I have been trying to understand it better by reading up.. but google has not been helpful \:D

Google is your friend.

A two way has better range and a one way.

I tried google m8 \:\) I couldn't find much that was useful.

Alright... So I think I will wait and save up a little extra dough for a better two way alarm (guess I will go with Viper).

I was looking at this: http://sonicelectronix.com/item_1590_Viper+791XV.html

Seems to have a lot of good recommendations. Is it better then the 3002? I am just really undecided. I might just try to fork out $250 for the 5900.

I do have one question though. For any of these alarms with remote start. Can it be wired to a stick shift?

No remote start on a manual unless you use a safety module. Not a DIY Job.

Oh. Ok.

I called a local shop and they said $175 for installation of just the alarm. And $375 to install the alarm and remote start.

I will have to wait a little while before I get an alarm.

Thanks for all the help.
