There's a MECA competition in Huntsville, Al on Sept 14th.

To help kick this event off (which will be my first competition if all goes well up to that point with my install) I'm hosting a get together at my house in Decatur, Al. This is approximately 25 miles from Huntsville and ~5 miles directly off I-65.
There's a good deal of room at my house; an alley with a fairly large field behind my house. Enough to accomodate many people.
Donations will be accepted for food: Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Big Bob's BBQ. 
I'm planning to start off at about 3pm that day. Directions will be sent via PM/e-mail so those who want to attend please let me know via PM or e-mail: hardisj@gmail.com.
This is an open invitation, where there will (hopefully) be some of the top SQ competitors hanging out and badmouthing those who don't show. The more the merrier and I mean it. I'd love to have as many folks who are interested in this hobby to show up.
please let me and others know if you plan to attend by replying to this thread. If you have any particular questions feel free to contact me by e-mail or PM.

I'll c ertainly be a the HSV show on the 14th, it's only like 5-6 miles from the house. Can't say what I will be driving.

Funny you bring it up, though. Last I heard, they were still getting a DNA test b/c he doesn't know if it's his or her ex-fiance's. Yet, he still is going to marry her. Ridiculous.

Talked with J last night and apparently he still isn't 100% he can make it. I was trying to schedule around everyone else but I'm going to stick with the 13th and hope that it works out. If folks can't make it, then we'll try again in October. If nothing else we'll all be together (awwww, how cute) at the Huntsville & Boaz shows.

I'm still planning on it.
Time is still TBD. Waiting to hear what the sound domain guys think they can do. I'm thinking 5pm or so. That way it'll cool off a bit outside.

I'm thinking the SD guys are going to be around to after 5:00. That seems to be the best bet.
Does the place we are going to be have lights or is this some type of field or something?

I'll have minimal lighting in my backyard. Mainly next to the house. If you think there'll be a need for more I can try (key word, try) to get some more lights. Or if you guys have any you want to bring feel free.
The field behind my property is where I figured most could park, rather than parking on the street. My fence has a large gate where you can pull your car into the backyard if needed. I do it all the time when I'm washing or working on my car.

All you other folks are more than welcome to attend. My wife's gonna make me clean the house and mow the yard anyway, so I might as well make it worth it.
