I have finally successfully installed my HU in a 2002 chevrolet malibu. it's my first install and i'm pretty satisfied with everything.
my problem is dvd playback. i can hear sound but the screen remains blank. if i touch the screen the playback controls come up, so basically it just won't show the dvd picture. this happens with dvds, divx, etc.
i have a bypass switch hooked up with one end to the light green brake wire and the other end to the ground on my cigarette lighter. flipping the switch on/off/on removes the blue 'ATTENTION' screen but then it remains blank.
Where could the problem be? Would it make a difference if i actually connected it to the parking brake? i don't want to take the time digging around under my steering wheel for the cord just to find out it does the same thing.

5 1/2 month bump still have same issue
