Alpine IVA-505 headunit goint opticaly out in to Orion DEQ-30 EQ opticaly out to 2 Alpine H400 crossovers to feed my 3 way + subs + rear.
Does anybody remembers how to operate H400 daisychained ?
Most important - would Alpine h400/Orion DEQ30 perform well by today SQ standards? I could EQ/XOver/time delay system quite well with RTA, but how's the quality of sound compared with more modern units such as INPRINT or H701? I looked at them, but looks like they would not let me to x-over front 3 way and subs as well as run rear. I still belive you need some rear fill in the car envioment.
I would like to replace 3 older boxes wit one modern digital processor I just do not know wich one could do what I need?

I would go with the 701, I have owned the h400. It's a great crossover but the 701 can do so much more. you wont look back I promise. Also maybe free up some room by loosing both the other units.

701 will not allow you to do a 3 way front, rear fill and a sub.

The equipment you listed is good. Not exactly eash to tune with, but if you have done it in the past, then you will be familiar.

The only product I know out there that you can do a 3 way front and rear fill and sub is the F#1 stuff. You will pay a lot more, but it would be easier to tune and more flexible than what you have.

The H400 has a master/slave switch for when you run two of them.

A few things to consider: the H400 was only 24dB/oct on the sub out, IIRC; and 18dB/oct on the rest. This may or may not impact you, just listing it (the H701 is variable from 6 - 30dB/oct)

The DEQ will not let you EQ the front and rear separately. Again, this may not impact you, just bringing it up for you to consider.
