the warranty is a joke as it does not cover anything if you actually read it.

I know this is an old ass thread, but this forum is slow anyways. This is the second time I've seen mention of this, since I was doing some searching before I decided to purchase the 13av2.
I find it somewhat amusing that people are ripping on eD for having a "joke" of a warranty, that it "doesn't cover anything". If you really do read it, it's no different than what almost all companies offer. If you damage it due to your own negligence, of course it's not covered. Who would cover that? They cover workmanship, if something happens as a result of poor build quality, they will fix it.
You might as well list everyone that provides a full warranty even to cover your own negligence, because it would be a short list.

They don't cover their own defects. Plain and simple they suck. I know dealers who got screwed by ed because they didn't stand behind their product. If you want a real sub let me know.
Oh and to let you know the dealer matched an ed amp and sub to ed's exact specifications. The sub blew not to abuse and ed would not warranty it.

I agree with Murph. ed has a horrible warranty. They say it's a 5yr warranty but you have to pay to return it and pay shipping to get it back. Then if you don't have all the original packing pay an extra fee. By the time it's all said and done you might as well buy a new sub.
I am not into bashing people like this but Ben Milne is a JOKE.

I only have one story I can quote and it was from North Carolina. He got screwed when Ed started to sell their product online at dealer COST. Nice way to screw your dealers on product and warranty.

I have ed subs and one was making horrible noises. I tested it and it read 4ohms like it was supposed to. The sub was never abused at all. I called them and they told me to box it up and sent it to them. They will look at it and I would have to pay for the cost to repair it and pay return shipping. I don't know about any of you but ANYTHING I have ever had to return the cost of the return shipping was paid by the dealer.
I was told that ed also ripped ID off on one of their subs. Don't know how true that is.

All the more reason why I would never do business with a company like that.
