Hi i have a 2000 jeep Grand Cherokee with a factury alarm...I've never had any problems with it until last night....When i set my alarm now everything locks but the HATCH??But more importantly my Jeep won't start ..I've of a auto shut off for the alarm could this be the problem?I've even trying to lock it manually via the KEY on drivers side door...Also useing the key on the drivers side door..ONLY locks and unlocks the drivers door and not passengers etc...thank for any HELP...

You have a very common bad lock motor in the hatch. Sounds like you have a dead battery to me.

Thanks...Can u check the bad lock motor...and Could this cutoff my fuel shut down??the Battery is ONLY 2months old on my vehicle and it's been VERY good condition...anything else can i check...

If the motor doesn't lock or unlock then it's bad.

The factory alarm does not have a fuel shut off.

Get out a meter and check voltage.

thanks...I did check the battery..It's just odd that my car alarm dies on me and now my vehicle won't start...It will crank but won't turn over and yes my fuel pump is good...I'm going to have someone check the Cam chain and the crank position sensor..Thanks so would it be better just to buy a aftermarket NEW alarm or replace the part.......thanks again De
