how can i input ipod video into my pioneer headunit.

help out anyone i own a pioneer avh-p4000dvd unit is great i been trying to input video from my ipod to watch on the headunits screed done all the process on the manual but can do it im using a ipod adapter with audio and video that plugs at the bottom of the ipod bought it at the local electronic store i connect these plugs to the back of the unit that has the audio and video in but wont show any pictures nor audio.i dont want to go around buying plugs just to try them out i seen at the ipod page a plug that goes for 49 bucks but dont know if this one will do the job.now if i play regular music from the ipod then sound comes on.by the way my ipod is the 160gb with video.has anyone had this problem and how did you get it solve any help or suggestions are welcome.o and by the way pioneer has a direct cable for the ipod its CD-I200 but i heard that this cable will only work for direct audio and control of the ipod not for video.

i have the same problem with my 4gb nano..although its a different head unit, its the same thing, sound works fine, but no video =/

what cable did you use was it the one from apple or pioneer or the regular electronic shop.I was told that the cable from apple you can view it in your head unit and your home tv also but im checking around first before i spend the 57 bucks shipped the plug goes for from apple.
