If you really want my honest opinion. I wouldn't do it. I would save up some money and get a better HU that does all that for me. That's the absolute least amount of components in the signal path. I have a Alpine 9887 in my truck that has all those features built in, plus time alignment. I believe the 9885 does as well for even less money. I can't believe Lanzar built a 7" screen HU with no EQ or X-over.

well ive been searching for a new head unit but the only ones ive found that offer the signal proccessing that i want dont have an indash screen, they are normal units... and with the indash units that have a screen, the ones ive seen all have the three band eq which blows...i mean im willing to spend money on a hu that come with this... but the ones that ive seen are $700 and up... not gonna happen

I haven't been impresseed with a soundstream product in about 10 years. I'd pass on anything by them.
Why do you need an EQ? What are you trying to fix? You can do a lot of tuning with a very flexible crossover. I'd spend my money on that.

well to be honest i dont really see why i need an eq... as long as the highs , mids, and, lows play im fine... but what ive been noticing is that since i dont have anything to filter the signals to each speaker... all of my speakers try to play every single freqency... and i end up blowing my door and dash speakers.. just looking for a way to keep the each frequency going to its respective driver...very loudly

You do need a crossover. List all of your equipment, that will help. If that is it in the signature. What speakers do you have (not subs) other than the 6x9's and what are you powering them with?

Audiocontrol are the best all in one. Chek the DQS or the DQXS, a little bit expensive but they worth it.

i disagree. audiocontrol pieces have been known for noise. also they don't offer time alignment, which the alpine 701 does. after you buy the remote piece for the audiocontrol unit (b/c there's no way you're tuning from the trunk) you're at the same price.
