What is the best place to put the tweeters to achieve the best imaging possible? The mids are in the middle of the door and I have a space for a tweeter in the typical door pillar area and a space in the uppder door panel. Are either of these locations good?

play with placement, use some velcro or something like that and place them where you think they might sound good and have fun, when you findwhere they sound best to your ears, you have your perfect placement.

ideally you want them as far away from you as possible, which usually means the a-pillars.

however, when placing them there, make sure they're about a half inch higher than the highest point on your dash. i'd have loved to have my tweeters farther back on my accord, but i have a big honking instrument cluster hump, so they had to be higher up. next year might see something being done about that though...
