Okay, i have a 2003 chevy impala with a factory stereo, 2 12inch kickers in the back, and a 1000w amp.

I installed a line out converter spliced into the rear speakers, ran the power line from the battery, grounded everything, and hooked up the speakers.

The only thing is the remote wire which I already ran to the front of the car.

The car has two fuse boxes right when you open the passenger and driver door.

Does anyone have a chevy impala and know where to connect the remote wire in the fuse box and how?

I just take out the small square fuse, stick the remote wire in the slot, and just jam the fuse back in?

don't do what you're suggesting.

first, you need to fuse the remote wire - 1A or .5A. next you should wire it to the factory radio - it should have a remote turn-on available either at the factory harness or at an unused pin in the harness.

if you are unable to get an actual turn-on then use a fuse tap off the radio fuse, from the tap to an in-line fuse, next wire it to a switch at the dash, then go to the amp. you need to turn the amp on last and off first - every time you play the factory head unit.

all of those parts are readily available for around $5 at any auto parts store or radio shack.

can't you just tap off of your accessory power for your headunit?

I have the factory headunit.

As far as i know the yellow is the switched +12v power line but im not 100% sure so i don't want to go randomly splicing behind there.

i don't think theres a switched on that car. you could run it off the constant of the radio to an inline fuse and use a switch if you dont mind having a switch

or get accessory from the ignition harness, again just make sure to add a fuse

isn't that just tapping off of a switched power source?
