Is there any particular brands of marine speakers that are best? I've been looking at Pyle and Cadence. I'm pretty sure the Cadence are better than the Pyle but that's just from me reading a few reviews on other Cadence products. What is everyone's experiences with marine speakers?

stay away from Pyle. Go with the majors; Clarion, MB Quart, Alpine, Eclipse, CAdence, Kicker. There are many more that are decent, but stay away from teh cheapies

they make pretty good marine, if I remember correctly. Last year at CES they had a boat in their booth to get the word out.

I'm thinking about getting this amp:
http://www.pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?brand=&cat1=Marine%20Audio&cat2=Amplifiers&model=PLMRA620

I'll probably only be using 600-800 watts from it though.

My enclosure is probably going to be sealed for the 10in woofer. (Unless I want to try to play with some port tuning) The other speakers (probably 6.5in components and maybe some 6x9's) will be I guess semi free-air.

Dude, Pyle does not have a very good reputation and that amp won't make it's rated power. That said I had a pyle amp that when I kept the gain low, had low distortion. It was rated for 120 and it was benched for 70 watts. It survived being drenched in 2 inches of water (tornado with the top down) and is still kicking in another Jeep today.

Do you have a budget? What will the speakers be going in? If you're on a tight budget consider looking for bazooka or boss (they have a new marine line) products...it'll be better than the pyle (altho it's still really budget level stuff) and the amp will be more likely to do it's rated power. You can usually find used bazooka stuff inexpensive on ebay.
