I know this is redundant, but check out the MB Quart marine stuff in the blog. Pretty cool stuff. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but I hope to. If you have any experience with the stuff, I'd love to hear feedback.

I've heard it fairly recently. It responds about as well as the car audio line does. In other words, it lacks the bottom end response that I like from good mid-woofers.

Translation: Jay likes a large bottom end on a party barge... Hop on ladies.

Seriously now,
marine speakers are fine, but what about great marine radios and amps?

Jl makes a few amps for marine purposes.
i think pioneer maybe does but im not sure.
although i have never ehard any of them.
i also would not spend any money on buying an amp for my boat.
just my personal opinion

I've done 20 and 30 thousand dollar systems on boats. Usually we use are audio equipment and resin the boards to waterproof them. The speakers, OTOH, NEED to be marine grade so that they don't deteriorate in teh sun and water. Kicker used to have a marine line that was glued and sewn so that it didn't warp.

Well I just got donw doing a fairly good sized system in my boat using the MB quart as the head end pieces.

The system consists of;
MB Quart BB System with the controller and a round small controller on the stern
DVD Player for the videos, the DVD is nice but it has trouble with videos of differing formats on the smae dvd (Mpeg, avi, vob etc)
iPod dock, was hoping it would process iPod video but only video is out fo the DVD player
(4) Alpine PDX 1.1000's for the subs
(3) Alpine PDX 4.150 for the mids / highs
(7) pairs Memphis 8" Marine Coaxs
(1) Pair Memphis 6.5 Marine Coax (filling a hole that I could not squeeze an 8" into)
(4) Diamond D6 12" dual 2ohm subs

All RCA's are running through a pair of 10volt line drivers (6 channels each) so I have a prayer fo getting decent voltage tot he amps

I added 5 batteries to the system for power and ran two runs of 2/0 for power and ground runnif through 300 amp fuses and it all teminates at a stinger 30 farad cap and then out intot he distribution to amplifiers

I added a pair of 7" headrest monitors in the backs of the seats for th videos, really a dock party hing, but I had then sitting around from the install in the Excursion.

Overall I am happy with the MB Quart system, it is not as smooth as my previuos alpine units but the remotes are very nice and the video is a nice touch.

If I could figure out how to post pictures I would put some up to show the work
