I will be getting the AVN6620 and the Ipod unit for a direct connection. What is the sound quality? I will be pushing it with 2 JL 12w6v2 and a JL 1000/1 amp. I am wondering if I will be better burning the cd's still or will it sound as good or good enough to be worth buying the unit.
Thanks in advance.

I have the 6620 in my car with the iPC106. I can tell you that the sound quality is right at the top for a nav unit. With 5V preouts and a very high S/N ratio you will be happy with it, no matter what format you are using. If you are going to burn your cd's make sure you burn them lossless (no compression) so that you get the best possible sound out of your unit.

Thanks for the reply. So what do you think of the unit it self? I am doing the Ipod and Sirius for sure. I am thinking about the Sirius traffic. The adapter is pretty expensive. I haven't met too many people with this unit. So I want to get some owners point of view instead of a retailers sales advice.

Well, I'm an owner, but I also work for Eclipse. I am using the Ipc106 and the Sirius NavTraffic. I find that info is about 5 minutes behind, but that's useful enough for most situations. If you consider that our Navtraffic unit is an all in one tuner, it's not that expensive. You won't need another tuner for Sirius Radio. Honestly, this is one of the better all in one Nav units on the market. I have found that the usability is easy out of the box, and it only takes a matter of hours to master its functions. My recommendation is to go to a shop, and play with the unit in the display. You'll love it.

How is does the AVN6620 control the Ipod. How are the playlist seen on the display. I was considering the Kenwood because the Ipod interface and interaction is the bomb. You can even play the movies on the screen.

The 6620 needs the iPC106 interface. It will not play movies YET, but we are working on it. The controls are pretty simple, you get genre, artist, playlist, album & song. It displays song title, artist and album while playing, and because its iPod full control it's really fast. The interface retails for about $40, but a lot of retailers are throwing them in for free.
I like the Kenwood, but it's a bit pricey, and the GUI is a bit hard to decipher at a glance. It's just a bit busy for my taste.

Well I bit the bullet today and got my 6620 with the Ipod, Sirius traffic modules. I have never spent this amount of money on system before so I have a little buyers remorse. LoL!!!
I have like 30 gig worth of music on my ipod so I did't want to have to scroll through all the songs. Being able to scroll like on my Ipod is a really big deal. Getting the Sirius Traffic is a little over priced, but I hope it works good. I can't seem to get any really good reviews on it.
To fill you in on what I got. I got the Eclipse AVN6620, JL Audio 1000/1v2 Slash, 2 JL Audio 12w6v2 Subs, JL Audio C5-650 Component Speakers(Front), JL Audio TR-650-CX1 Coaxle Speakers(Back), JL Audio 300/4v2 Slash for the mids and highs. AutoPsge RS900 Remote Start.
So seeing all that you see I put some quality stuff in my sled. I just hope it pounds the pavement and the highs and mids are awesome. I really appreciate your help. What do you think of my setup?

I think that you have some really high quality stuff there. Make sure that it's installed properly, and you'll enjoy it for a long time. Your next purchase needs to be the C3 for your AutoPage. I've been playing with it for a few months now (they are around the corner from me, I hang out with them quite a bit) and that C3 is pretty freakin' cool. I can start my car from anywhere in the world. I get text messages about my alarm going off. I can track the car's speed, amount of gas, mileage, etc from my phone.

My installer was telling me about the C3. I may look into it.
Now I have to find the best way to keep my rims from getting jacked. LoL!!!
