This is the post for all those hack jobs and horror stories. Who knows it might end up in a blog one day.

what is the required relationship to the install? a friend of a friend? a guy that walks into the store with 8 feet of power wire that is black with the insulation melted off and they say "it was still banging while the wire was smoking"?

a guy comes into the store saying two of his subs aren't working. he has four RF HE2 10" subs in a four chamber box in his extended cab truck. box looks good. he has two RF amps sitting loose on the floor behind the drivers seat. he has his power wire visible along the floor, through the door jamb, under the hood and it is stripped back roughly 10", the bare copper whip is just wrapped around the battery terminal, no tape, no fuse, nothing.

i ask how he connected the speaker wire to the sub and he says he wrapped it around the terminal (go figure). i tell him it probably just came off and he should remove the subs and secure them properly. i then walk him into the store and place a fuse holder, ring terminal, and spade terminals on the counter. i tell him that he'll set his truck on fire sooner or later if he doesn't spend the $20 right now. he says he needs to get his wallet, walks out, drives away.

I'll start off with a few of my favorites. Dodge Ram alarm install.

When you steal the radio you get a free car alarm.

I can't get the wire in this grommet so I'll just push it in and run the wires through the big hole.

No one will find the siren out in the open right?

Rat's?, no we ain't got no rats but I got yellow barrels. Three of them on the starter kill.

Oh do i have some real nice installs to show all of you. These are from a installer that i fired due to crappy installs. Ill start with one car and depending on the responce ill post more. This is a Chevy Tahoe that he did a remote start alarm in and hacked it in. Now mind this guy says he is a "security specialist" let you be the judge.

Alarm brain stuffed up bye the drivers kick, and with a little tug this is what falls down on top of your foot.

Now this isn't very stealthy is it???? Not at all what a "security Specialist" would do if he really was one.

All taped up though right??? oh ya the security module is right there in your face.....real "security specialist" like isn't it. Oh but wait it gets better.

There's a amp install done bye the same installer and whats this no gromett in the fire wall???????? Thats not good at all. The best part is this "guy" is still installing "professionally" right now. So just make sure you know who is installing your "security" system. Cause you never know who's going to see you install after its done!!!!!
