Discontinued AVIC-N1 ribbon cable?

I've been told for a while now that the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the internal player is on backorder/no longer available. I've been told that Pioneer is now the only company authorized to repair the N1...for now. When they decide to change that, the ribbon will be avail again. How true is this and is it going to change at any time?

my guess is that you should contact Pioneer for the ribbon.

Actually call Pioneer and ask about the free recall fix of the ribbon cable. I can't begin to tell you how many N1's we sent in this year for the fix and all we paid for was shipping to the repair center.
