hardwiring my satellite radio???????

i just bought a sportster 5 for my truck. i hooked it up and then decided that i didnt like that it took up my cigarette lighter. How can i hardwire it, so it comes on when i turn my car on? Someone suggested using a add a circuit adapter. my problem with that is my satellite radio dock is only 5 volts. i read the other reviews and i dont really understand them. thanks for any help!!

easiest way is to buy a cigarette lighter Y-adapter (at any auto parts store). use it as is or if you want you can just cut it up, and put the socket behind/under the dash. then wire it to your radio power or the existing cigarette lighter power. this way you don't damage the sat radio power wiring since the plug also reduces the voltage. you keep your plug, hide it, and have your original cigarette lighter.

Use a Metra wired cigarette lighter adapter. Find at CC and possibly BB for a few bucks. Easiest and fastest way IMO.
