ok so, i use to have a zune, and it "broke" (we won't get into how it "broke" but it broke) and now i have a circuit city gift card for like $232. Well i was planning on getting a ipod touch. It has been like 4 weeks and circuit city still hasn't got 1 shipment of them in.
So today i was bored after school and just walking around looking at stuff. There is nothing car audio related i want as all that stuff is horribly overpriced, so then i wandered off to the satellite radio section.
Naturley i started looking at the most expensive units. The stiletto 100 and inno.
Now it seems everyone on here hates xm, and everyone is for sirius. So im kinda leaning towards sirius for now. The inno at circuit city said "no battery" so unfortuntaly i couldn't play with it. However the stiletto was pretty fun to toy around with. Also i will be using this as a mp3 player. So it seems the stiletto has more room then the inno in that aspect.
It says 2GB, does it actually give you 2GBs of storage specifically for mp3s?
I wish they had like a 4GB version, as that would be perfect for me. But 2GB will do.
Also it seems that a problem with both the inno and stiletto is the reception when not using satellite headphones. Is it true that the SQ/reception take a crap when using normal headphones?
My music choice is mostly rap, with occasional rock. The only sports i would be worried about would be college football specifically USC (Univ of South Carolina). Comedy is good too.
Also on the sirius on the brochure i picked up apparently there is a "playboy" channel. Now me and my friend tried to figure out what kind of content would air on this channel, and it says it is available at no extra charge. Can anyone fill me in on what exactly this channel offers.
Now for installation in a car. Could i get away with doing this the ghetto way. Instead of a car kit with a antenna i gotta install and all the other crap they want to charge u money for. Can i just simply plug my stiletto 100 or inno up to my headunit through the aux port and it work that way like i did with my zune when i had that, or would that not work and give me crap reception because it wouldnt be using the like satellte type'd headphones.
One other thing. Talked to a coworker of mine that has sirius and he likes it and he said at his other job a buddy of his has a sirius thing where he can watch videos and stuff on it, and he made it sound like the videos were released by sirius. Anyone know anything about this model or what he might be talking of.
Any other input anyone wants to input?
Edit: I think the stiletto 100 was like $180 or so, and the inno was like $200 with a $50 mail in rebate. Those were the prices in the store. The stiletto did have this really nice cradle/docking station looking thing that went with it.
