Sirius and XM question...

I have an XM plug-n-play set up. I have a Sirius receiver with no antennae. The XM antennae does plug into the Sirius receiver but will it work with the Sirius? I have been told by numerous stereo shops that it will and one shop told me no. Will it work?

It will but it may effect sound quality.
