Sirius and AUX jack w/ Toyota

Got a new car that has an AUX jack. I was excited to see this so I wouldnt have to use the crappy FM mod anymore.
When I plug the radio into the jack I get feedback. It seems to be related to the engine, when I accelerate it gets worse. Any idea what this is or how to fix it?

Is Sirius plugged into the cigarette lighter? Can you run it off other power (like do it in the garage and run an extension cord into the car and run the radio off the "inside" adaptor).
What happens if you try hooking up an Ipod or MP3 player instead?
