This is your chance to vote for a winner in this very cool contest. BLVD Customs from Florida is competing with Brabus, RennTech and Legendary Motorcar. This site on the Mercedes site has a ton of details on the contest. If you like the BLVD Customs GLK, text GLK25 to 48457 from your cell phone. Here are some pictures of the finished product. You can also catch more pictures and the entire build process on the BLVD Customs website. http://www.dupontregistry.com/blvd/Finished.aspx

The BLVD Custom Urban Whip was unveiled at the Wynn Casino & Resort in Las Vegas on November 3rd by Mercedes-Benz at a press event with over 100 world-wide media attendees. The Blvd. Customs Urban Whip quickly stole the show, and has been receiving press and praise for its aggressive blend of cutting-edge styling infused with the classic Mercedes Benz inspired design. Blvd. Customs didn't hesitate to push the envelope on the Urban Whip design and proudly display our GLK with signature Blvd. Customs styling cues including a one of a kind widebody kit, motorized speedster cover, hand-crafted mesh grille collection, 26" wheels and tires, and custom stereo and interior just to name a few of the modifications. With a build theme required to 'turn heads and rule the road' it seems to be unanimous that we did just that!

This is actually alot nicer of a layoff then when they went from commission to hourly. They took all they highest earners in each store, gave them a severence check and told them that they could never work for Circuit City again.

If you are anything like me, it is about three weeks from MECA Finals and you ALMOST have enough points to qualify. But not quite. So this Saturday, I am headed to North Georgia for the last non-State Finals event on the MECA Event Schedule. In addition to MECA being there, Tim and Alison Brown also have an IASCA 2x Event with Moe and Terry being there in hopes of iDBL World Records being broken.

The show starts at 1 PM and is one of the most affordable shows I have seen all season. It is $15.00 plus a toy to get into the show area, and then $10.00 for each event you want to compete in. So if you do IASCA and MECA Sound Quality, it would be $35.00 plus one toy as a donation to Toys for Tots. Which is what most shows charge for one class.

SoundDomain member 00RedRT has owned this red Dodge Dakota RT for six years and after saving and buying components to build his ideal audio system, finally bit the bullet and sent the car down to Jeff Smith and James Stanton of Sound Sensations to put all the pieces together in one of the most impressive builds I've seen yet. His weapons of choice include a complete Alpine multimedia/F#1 system, Dynaudio three-way speaker system, and JL Audio amps and subs, wrapped into a red snake skin wrapped custom center console, amp rack, and sub enclosure. Red and black leather wrapped Viper seats at the perfect sport touch to this mean street machine. However, words truly can't express how impressive this build is, so you'll just have to check out the pics for yourself!

Car Audio Nationals took place the past weekend in Georgia, and the show was an amazing success. The competitor roster was full of the industry's top guns, and why not? With a $3500 purse on the line, who wouldn't want to try their hand! CAN took place along MECA State Finals and a USACi event, so there was no shortage of audio fanatics and experts on hand. CAN judging included one-seat and two-seat SQ judging, so competitors really had to bring their A-game. A special thanks goes out to Arc Audio for hosting the event.

We'll have pics up shortly from the event thanks to Team SoundDomain's own Jonathan "Thumper" Denton. And if you were there and had a camera handy, we'd be happy to add your shots to out gallery as well. And speaking of Thumper, big congrats on your 4th place CAN finish! Not too shabby for a rookie....

Team SoundDomain's Andy Jones just posted up a great how-to for custom floormats that also work to isolate floorboard vibration and road noise. And the best part? They're pretty simple to make and not too expensive! Now, he can't take all the credit, he acutally got the idea from fellow Team SoundDomain member Rick Sellers. Props to both for a great idea! What are you waiting for? Get Dead!

Ever wonder what Car Audio looks like in another country? I came across this Member's CarDomain page while searching another forum. I was blown away by the cars I saw.

I contacted the owner and asked for a little bio and background:

"My SoundDomain pages have a spread of work, all of mine but not all from the one shop.
A large portion of it is from when I had my own independent store (technik car audio), I have closed that shop and now work for a company that has three retail shops and also a fleet, trade, and mining support company.
I am based at one of the retail stores and still do a fair bit of custom work but I am also the workshop manager and furthermore lend technical and fabrication support to all areas of the company.
Over my 16 years working full time in the industry I have worked for a number of shops, on both the east and west coasts of australia.
Gotta get going for now, nice to hear from you, take care mate.
    Regards,
    Michael Macey"

Anyone who has been in smart car can tell you that the 3-cylinder engine sounds almost like a diesel. At first it’s cute, and yeah it sounds like a car from The Jetsons, but after a while I wanted a car that was quiet. Sean from SoundDomain suggested I look into sound deadening the interior to cut down on the vibrations caused by the loud 3-cylinder engine, and to cut down on the noise making it into the car through the plastic door skins.

To start the project off we loaded up on a number of products from Second Skin Automotive Insulation. Everything from Damplifier Pro, Spectrum Sludge, Luxury Liner Pro, OverKill Pro, and Heat Wave. At the beginning of this project I didn’t know what a single one of these things was meant for, but after reading some simple tutorials and throwing on some work clothes, I was ready to go. I decided to start with deadening the floorpan and trunk/engine area. Check out my ride page to see how my Damplifier Pro install went.

Well you soon will. Ultra is a company born and bred in the USA. Staten Island New York to be exact. Ultra believes in making quality products that you can beat on daily and they will keep working for you. No mass produced speakers with this company.

Brad Eubank from Stereo One in Dickson Tennessee, holds an IASCA World Record with TWO Ultra Monster 15's. He scored a 162.3 in the Advanced One class at the NOPI Nationals. The funny part is Ultra doesn't make SPL woofers. That record was broken with SQ woofers.

If you are a member of any Car Audio community then you have no doubt heard about the benefits of sound deadening your vehicle. It's a proven fact that sound deadening can reduce road noise and help keep your sound in your vehicle, and the rattles and road noise out.

Have you seen the Sound Deadening Showdown?

SoundDomain put many of the top sound deadening brands head to head to see who is on top. The SoundDomain blog has covered sound deadening before. Check out this great info

Try to Google "Sound Deadener testimonials" and you will find a few posts mixed in with ads and all sorts of nonsense. Sound Domain has decided it's time we put all of them in one place. It's time for The Official Sound Deadener Testimonial post. This is a place here you can share your experience. It's not meant to be a commercial for any one brand. We all have our favorite brands, and no one company fits everyone's needs, but please share your experience.]]>
